That misconception is partly my fault.
Up until about a year ago, it seemed most people here ran RH. Many have
since switched to Mandrake.
We have recently had an upswelling of interest in debian. I personally
highly encourage that :).
SuSE and Slackware have their own folowings here ( as you've been seeing
today ). We even have caldera out there somewhere.

Lots of 'em out there.
Blake, Joel, Pete and I all do Linux devel and sys_adm here ( though Pete
will soon be giving up the good life ). Jiva, Nick and Ken ( and Joy,
but I don't think she reads the list ) do Linux devel or sys_adm where
they're at. Brian and Jason do Linux for Sequoia, which hosts our East Side
mtgs. Eric ( not to mention Eric and another Eric ( this one being a founder
of PLUG ) ) does Linux. I believe Steve, our host for West Side mtgs at
GCC, does Linux. Then we've got Deepak, Scarlett, several Roberts, Larry,
Kimi, Carl, Bill, I think a Craig or two and let's not forget Kevin and
Kurt. Actually we have two Kevin Bs who work on Linux :).
We have Jean ( not the glamorous red head, though ), but I'm not certain he
still does Linux as he might've moved completly to *BSD :).
Took me 2 minutes to come up with that list of people I know to work on
Linux. There are others, I'm certain. Of that list I don't know how many are
in my situation of only working on Linux. Some in the list are consultants
and don't have real jobs :).
I also know of plenty of people who work with Linux and don't participate in
any of the Linux groups we have in town.
ciao,
