it sounds like 1 or more of your libraries are fubar.
The only thing I can recommend at this point (having had
a similar problem) is to reinstall using the update feature.

also, as 8.uh-0 is a dreaded "0" version, it might niot be a bad 
idea to simply upgrade to 8.1.

One small problem I have encountered with 8.1 is that some printers
that worked in 8.0 will not in 8.1 (the printfilters and the lpr
are definitely different.

I may try with the 8.0 version and see whats up.

in the meantime, try an upgrade to 8.1. it worth the few hassles you
*might* get.
