Okay, on recommendation from a friend because of good German language =
support, I took down my beloved slack box and put debian 2.2r3 on it.
I feel like a complete newbie.

Okay, I have enough to get started with. All my networking is up. The =
console is great.
So where is gnome?
startx only runs windowmaker, and I can't find gnome. I know it's =
installed, /var/lib/gnome says so.
I just ran an apt-get install gnome-* and it's going nuts now.
But I just wanted to get this out there, so if I start ranting off and =
asking debian things, you'll be prepared. And if you don't hear =
*anything* back, well, then slack is back.. ha ha
Get ready.
