Using Squid to cache web pages locally

Hi,

I just installed Squid and I want to use it to cache web pages
locally and speed the browsing process using Apache.
Anyone know of an easy way to do this. I'm just on a 56K connection
and standalone Linux box. I had done this before, years ago and if
I remember correctly I had to modify one of the Apache conf files
but I don't remember which one and what the mods were.
