Compiling QT

Has anyone else compiled QT-X11 2.2?

It took an insane amount of time, and I think it got stuck about an
hour in, even. Restarted it and was done in another 30 minutes... this
is on a K6-2 400 (100FSB, 64MB CAS2 SDRAM, 1MB L2 cache, 64KB L1)...
the same machine compiles kernels in a matter of a few minutes.
