Do you still have your install cd? If so, boot with it, change to <F2> and
see what you can discover from the command line. You don't have many tools
available there, but more than you do with a kernel panic :). See if fdisk
and cfdisk think you have valid partitions. If they do, see if you can
mount them. Make stuff up from there ;-).
