Heh, 60 is only bad because of fluroscents or other stuff. Actually, I
just checked my monitor, its not 59.1 .. its running 62Hz. I can sense
the flicker if I try to, but it doesnt create any eye fatigue
NORMALLY. The only time its been a problem is on days when I had done
a lot of driving thru LA (before I moved) and had been exposed to a
hell of a lot of smog (do you smoke or live in one of the high smog
areas by any chance?) 

Its easy enough to switch resolution on the fly, ctrl-alt-+/- ... so I
have those same refresh rates available too... (85Hz 256x192, 512x384,
108Hz 640x480, 105Hz 800x600, 85Hz 1024x768, 70Hz 1152x864) at the
lower resolutions. Ive found that being able to clearly discern the
sqaure shape of a pixel is harder on my eyes/nerves than flicker...
