Nah. More than enough work to go around if you have knowledge as well as
the cell time :). Unfortunately it is true that some of the jobs are
somewhat skewed in favor of younger people, but at the same time big,
staid firms like Motorola, Intel, Honey Signal, et al can't meet the
requirements of that same youth, leaving large places of employment open
for you. You might not get piles of worthless stock options, but you
should be able to pull a good salary.

Also, if you've been doing programming, but know the OS, then you could
have plenty of seat time as a sys_adm ahead of you if you want.

That's my take of the scene, anyway :).
