cannot get MP3 to work

There's always the good old 'check all plugins and hardware/software volume
settings' trick too-I bring it up only because it's caught me a time or two.

I've played with it. I still don't hear anything, although I see by
looking at the mixer that the track is playing. It isn't the sound card is
it???
