New Distro and a Howto question

I know everyone is giving all these great ideas on how to get it to not
start up in X... but here is my favorite method:

# apt-get remove xdm

(feel free to substitute 'gdm' or 'kdm' for 'xdm', depending on which
display manager is being used)
