using Netscape 4.51

RedHat 6.0 is now on the machine that had win3.1.  
Until now, the ISP was accessed using Netscape 2.01.  
Now it is time to use Netscape 4.51 that comes with 
the Redhat distribution.  The connection has been 
successfully made with pppd and chat.  ping is successful,
ifconfig shows the ppp0 interface and there is an entry 
in the kernel routing table.  Neither Netscape nor lynx 
seem to access this connection.  What will it take to 
use Netscape?  

Any other neccessary information can be provided to anyone 
who would care to answer the question.
