Retrieving pop3 mail

I have always found it easiest to get mail from a POP account using
fetchmail and pine.
Just set up a .fetchmailrc in your home dir, something like:
#fetchmail conf example
poll mail.rickrosinski.com with proto POP3 user "USERNAME" there with
password "PASSWORD"
is YOUR_LOCAL_USERNAME here
#end of example
configuring pine is pretty straightforward.
you can run fetchmail as a daemon to automatically check your pop accounts.
hth,
todd
