wheel in XF86 4+

Has anyone gotten mouse wheels to work on XF86 4+? In specific 4.01. I've
never even experimented with imwheel, but I tried it in conjunction with
4, and that was a no go, which isn't a surprise becaise the aurthor
mentions issues on his site, but then I read the X documentation, and it
seems like the mouse drivers in 4 might support wheels on their own, so I
follwed that doc, and still no luck. Just because every now and again, the
mouse itself is just plain incompatible I will mention that I have a
Logitech optical wheel mouse (cute lil guy with its blue case and silver
buttons *smile* they don't make em in white) Any suggestions, welcomed!
