We are, out of respect for complaints from Adam Munter of OWASP, moving the
PLUG Linux Security Labs to the SECOND Tuesday of every month at John C.
Lincoln Hospital Cowden Center (18:30 - 20:00) so we will not compete for
participants.

Monthly security presentations and lectures, with open PLUG participation
occur, on the first Tuesday of every month. Come prepared to learn
about a security tool and then start using it. Ethical and legal, as well as
liability aspects of testing are covered as we investigate the strange world
of computer insecurity from our powerful Penguin perspectives.
The Hackfest is specially scheduled demonstration that includes open
cracking exploits and IDS. Quarterly Hackfests are open encroachment/IDS
events with designated targets and competition that require registration and
agreement to acceptable use, as well as understanding of liability and self
protection. Extensive setup and tear down, forensics and IDS are required
so these events are limited to make the best experience for all attendees.
Don't learn to hack; hack to learn. Hack test your installations and source
using Linux Security distro tools. Arrangements are happily accepted to
coordinate extra credit with local College teachers.

Plan on being able to use live CDs if you bring your laptop to lab
presentations, but open network access is limited to HackFests, which
require pre-registration, and MAC/IP address assignment (for forensics).
There is an open call for Backtrack or Security Distro presentations and
participants, especially for IDS and forensics.
We will be hosting an active Hackfest in Spring, watch our announcements for
details, and request for registration, and volunteers.
