This is kinda my point. CVS is ancient and creaky. SVN is CVS with a
couple of things fixed, but doesn't really reflect the way the
development world has changed since the heyday of CVS.

Sure. But for me, as long as there's enough community for continued
development and support I'm fine with it. I don't feel the need to be
using the project with the largest community. I also don't think
everyone should be using whatever tools I use.

I'm not sure I understand. Would it be good if Bazaar got all the market
share, and Git, Darcs, and Mercurial went away? It doesn't seem like it
to me, but that seems to be a common attitude in open source lately.
Would you mind explaining what you meant some more, since I'm having
trouble understanding?
