Topic: The Google Web Toolkit(GWT)
Abstract:
The Google Web Toolkit(GWT) is a great tool for any Java developer
looking to create advanced interactive web based applications. Thanks to
the release of the source code to the open source community under the
Apache 2.0 license, we can now examine in detail how the GWT works it's
magic in transforming regular Java code into HTML and javascript to
create an interactive web-based system.
Bio:
Joseph Sinclair is a Software Engineer currently working for Google in
Tempe. A graduate of the University of Arizona, Joseph has been writing
software for networked and web-based systems for almost 20 years. A
leader in the Phoenix Free/Open Source Software community, Joseph is a
strong advocate for open innovation, greater access to technology, and
greater attention to accessibility in developing web-based content and
applications.
==========
Network Note:
The wireless Internet at Adtron is known to mostly work but is flaky. We
have a donated 8 port switch for wired connections but it can fill up if
many people want to connect. We now also have another untested 5 port
switch thanks to Woody. But, if you have an access point or a switch to
share for the duration of the meeting, it is always welcome.
