Alan,

You're mixing apples and oranges :)

The boards are different boards using different H8S processors. It takes a
bit to understand that Hitachi has like 120 different model numbers of H8
micros... The FDT (Flash Development Toolkit) is a Windoze app for burning
the flash on ZTAT-based Hitachi micros. ZTAT is Hitachi's on-chip flash
technology. The EDOSK-2674R board doesn't have on-chip flash. There are
two flash parts, external to the micro, placed on the EDOSK. An AMD (512
KBytes of "BOOT" flash) and an 8MBytes of Intel StrataFlash part ( "Main"
flash).

The ZTAT board found in the presentations is the Hitachi H8S-2148AF EVB.
The EDOSK-2674R is also found in many of my presentations, but does not have
ZTAT flash on-chip.

The EDOSK-2674R is a very fast (33MHz) board with lots of memory and
Ethernet. You do not need Windoze to program the flash on this board.

Take Care.

Rob!
