Marc (and Alan and anyone else with an interest),
The unit is an H8S-2674R based system board. It features a 33MHz Hitachi
H8S, 8MBytes of SDRAM, 4 MBytes of flash, 10 Mbits/s Ethernet, 1 x DB9
Serial (2 more serial ports available through "soldier yer-own" headers), a
Real Time Clock w/battery back up and a 512K boot flash. There is also an
expansion connector (with a 2MByte "hole" in the memory map for your MMed
peripherals). This connector brings address and data busses with a chip
select (CS6) out so that an "industrious type" might easily expand this
system in any reasonable direction by adding only an appropriate
board-to-board mating connector to a daughter board. This board is very
fast and very low power.
I can make some time available to present these boards to the dev group, if
there is sufficient interest.
At any rate, for more details on the board:

I have a couple to give away if there is anyone who wants to *actively*
contribute to the code base and help bring up the kernel/drivers/apps/libs
on this board. Everyone else is invited to purchase one for $199 through
Avnet, Nu Horizons and/or Rep Tron if they are interested in a unit for
their own project(s).
Take Care.
Rob!
