have several subdirectories in that device's root dir that can be
chowned to whoever.=C2=A0 If you're using this device to back up more t= han
one machine, you may be running into UIDs being different on different
machines.=C2=A0 Post the output of "mount | grep bmike1" and &quo= t;ls -l
/media/bmike1" and "dmesg | tail".
