Disabling the automatic login = has several paths to execution.=C2=A0https://unix.s= tackexchange.com/questions/45573/how-to-disable-auto-login-in-linux-mint

A vendor loaded Tom's new PC with Min= t Cinnamon. It powers up without authentication to a default user account. = How do we disable that?

The details:
It was set up with one temporary admin user, named =E2=80=9Cuser=E2= =80=9D, with password =E2=80=9Cpassword.=E2=80=9D

So we set up the =E2=80=9Ctom=E2=80=9D account, with admin status, an= d then made =E2=80=9Cuser=E2=80=9D an ordinary user with its permissions tu= rned off, and a serious password.

We ran fine as = =E2=80=9Ctom=E2=80=9D, but when we shut down and restarted, it came right u= p as =E2=80=9Cuser=E2=80=9D without authentication.

We can log out of the =E2=80=9Cuser=E2=80=9D session and we get the login= dialog so we can get to the =E2=80=9Ctom=E2=80=9D account.

<= /div>
We could remove =E2=80=9Cuser,=E2=80=9D but I thought it might ha= ng up looking for that account.

I did some web sea= rching and they referred to two config files to be adjusted, but one didn= =E2=80=99t exist and the other had only one line which wasn=E2=80=99t relev= ant to the issue.

Any suggestions?

<= /div>
Thanks,
Victor
