Thanks. Mainly I want to interact with it via RDP instead of needing a separate kbd, mouse, and monitor. The VPS I’m using is requires RDP, and I mostly use it for uploading and restarting the service, but sometimes I do a little more.
I’ve got several computers plugged into a local switch, along with this new one, and I want it to be easy to update the stuff I’m working on (locally).
From the outside, it only needs to expose one public port that's accessible via https as an API that customers running my web app will be accessing (invisible to them) via an encrypted channel.
The service itself needs to be able to access a half-dozen other APIs.
I can call you this evening, or tomorrow late morning. Any preference?

Do you have a dedicated firewall? Putting a windows box with RDP open on the public Internet sounds like a recipe for disaster, but you do you.
I suppose you could rely on the windows firewall, but I don't have enough faith in that.

Do you want this windows box accessible over the public Internet?! I assume that's why you want Dynamic DNS.
I can help you set it up.
Hit me up offline.

I’m getting a little Dell Optiplex 7050 with Win10 Pro and I’d like some help getting it set up as a server with dynamic DNS (attached to my Cox internet) so it’s accessible via RDP.
I’m developing a back-end service that needs to run on Windows, and I’m tired of paying for a remote VPS that’s not used very much.
Can anybody here help, or recommend someone?
Thanks
