thanks for the warning. the ssd is the last possibility. I cleaned it, I replaced ram and I tried other OSes. This is the last thing before I buy a new HDD; I reinstalled w/o a home directory. I doubt it will help but maybe.after this I'm getting a cady and a spinner disk. then if I do need a new computer I will get a box with video, motherboard, and audio to have a completely modular system. have you heard of such a beast (mb, audio, video box). Could you direct me to a place I could get it?
Just be aware it might be the HDD but be careful if it still does it after changing the drive that it might be a possible problem of the motherboard.
