I did mention the serial#s are clean, but I meant the MAC addresses. They were both used on Cox previously.

The Cox reps I’ve talked with basically said they’re like cell phones — if you don’t pay your bill, you’ll get cut off and your modem’s MAC address will get blacklisted in their network. People sell those modems not realized they can’t be used.

I suspect, however, that if you got a modem that was used on another carrier, they wouldn’t know there’s a problem.

But both of these are clean and clear to use on Cox.

Can I ask why you're buying two? Do you have two separate circuits through Cox?

Be careful with the DPQ3212 - those get blacklisted easily. Even if buying from a 3rd party that uses a mac address/serial # range outside of Cox's internal supply, sometimes the provisioning system will flag them just by the model number - which unlike other MAC/Serial combos are always recognized as DPQ3212s and can't be spoofed. So if possible I'd shy away from them.
There are plenty of places that offer refurbed 3.0 8x4 or even 16x4 modems for cheap if no one has one in PLUG. Depending on speeds you can use any of the SB618[0-3] model range pretty reliably, but there's plenty of opinion out there.

I’ve got a couple that work fine on the Cox 100 meg plan.

I upgraded recently to their 300 meg plan. These modems work, but they only go up to ~150. I had to upgrade to a faster one to get the full 300 megs.

These are common Cisco DPQ3212 modems, no WiFi. (I have a separate router I use.)

The serial#’s are clean, so you shouldn’t have any trouble with them.

And I don’t know what’s “commerical” about this. People frequently ask about recycled equipment here. :-)

Hello,

I'm moving into a new apartment soon. So I'm gonna need two new modems. I don't want to buy the ones provided by COX. (Too expensive). I'm looking for two used DOCSIS 3.0 or 3.1 Modems. They don't need to have Wireless functionality, though then I'll need access points too. If someone has spare ones and are willing to sell, can they let me know. I'm coming to tomorrow meeting, since I'll be presenting, so I can but the modems then. I'm in no rush though, I need the modems by 15, which is when I'm moving in. Thanks you.

P.S. I'm not sure if I need to tag the email with something when I post something about buying or selling. ([Commercial], maybe). If so, let me know, I'll take care next time.
