My girlfriend wants to get a new computer. She doesn't do anything like programming and she is strictly a web-based user so she wants to give linux a whirl because of the security it offers. Which computer do you recommend.

On a side note she asked if there was a way to copy her saved passwords. I told her that there might be a way to do so if she wanted to remain a windows user but that most likely she would have to change her passwords if she turned to the light side of the force. Is this true? If not how do I retrieve the passwords?
