What is the 20-pin connector supposed to be doing here?  Providing additional power, or additional USB ports?  The closest thing that I found with a quick search is http://www.pcrush.com/product/USB-Adapters/827854/SYBA-Multimedia-Inc.-USB-3.0-2-port-PCI-Express-Controller-Card-with-SATA-Power-Connector , where the connector makes the ports able to deliver more current.

All USB3 chipsets should be supported out of the box on recent distros, so that shouldn't be a problem.
