I was reading some sites and it stated that if I ever had to recover
my data on s3, I'd be looking at a $6000 bill. Any one have an easy to
follow and understand chart for knowing all the fees involved in s3?
The official pricing list is at https://aws.amazon.com/s3/pricing/ . I would guess that storing 2T of data on "standard" storage would cost $60.93/month. Transferring 2T of data from s3 outward bound to the internet would cost $184.23 . And then more $ for every 1000 POSTs and 10000 GETs, which will add up if you have a lot of files.
This seems... expensive. 2 large-enough USB disks periodically rsynced and rotated offsite would probably be cheaper, if you could do that. If you need this to be entirely network-based, and you need to store and/or transfer 2T of data, you will probably end up paying significant monthly fees one way or another.
