Mostly this is a project for work. And we sold off our SIS and no longer have one in house. So i was trying to come up with a couple of Ideas we can set up so we can study the export and integration features.

The biggest problem with ALL of the opensource offerings is that none of them speak the proprietary reporting system that Arizona requires.   Last I checked, it was still technically possible to manually report to the state, but it's so much work that its cheaper to just pay for the proprietary solution.

I believe that the state's system may be open and documented if someone wanted to create an open source implementation of it...

I know a number of you ladies and gents have worked with schools at various levels. Have any of you had any experience with opensource SIS? I would like to try and gather a top 5 list of them and do some deeper digging on them.

Thanks a ton for any of your input.
