Not sure what there is to be concerned about.
They’ve decided that they cannot continue to ignore non-Windows platforms, so they’ve ported their proprietary DB to run on Linux.
Big deal.
Frankly I’m surprised it has taken them this long.
The TCO for Windows servers is many times higher than for Linux servers, even if SQL Server is free.
They’re basically missing out on the low-end of the market, since so many people are migrating to Linux-based servers simply because they’re cheaper to run. Not to mention their security is usually better.
