What exactly are you after? Just a spring cleaning? Or a removal and reapplication of the thermal compound?

Yeah, the dude at Data Doctors that called-back focused on the age of the machine and never did tell me if they could do the work. Maybe if I take it in they can tell me before I pay their $60 diagnostic fee?

My next machine is going to be a desktop which is why I maxed-out the RAM and installed an SSD last year so, yes, it is an aged laptop but it's otherwise in good condition and I'm holding onto it for now.

Both my wife and I have this laptop.  Mine runs Linux Mint and I think I am running Virtual Box on it also.  Plenty of power and resources for what I do - LAMP development.

I know on amazon right now you can find 15 based Dell Lattitude
E5420's for 200-250 with 4GB ram. they are refurbished but its a
pretty smokin deal for a laptop that is easier to work on than your
average consumer use laptop.

I have an HP Pavillion dv4 circa 2008 and the fan is running more
lately. I started-in to try and remedy this myself then stopped and
watched a couple YouTube videos and decided that I'd rather pay
someone else for what is essentially a full teardown.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a shop in the Chandler,
Gilbert, Mesa, Scottsdale arc that can do this for me?

TIA,
Jack
