The Phoenix metropolitan area is transforming itself into "Cyber Security Valley," thanks to a concerted effort by successful tech security leaders and government agencies. Metro Phoenix will be joining the ranks of a few other well-known tech destinations such as Silicon Valley as it attempts to capitalize on the buzz surrounding cyber security. The hope is that the creation of Cyber Security Valley will help attract talented professionals and recent college graduates to work in Greater Phoenix, as well as help to highlight local tech businesses that are helping to combat cyber intrusions.
Phoenix is a growing center for cyber solutions for the national and international epidemic of cyber warfare, intellectual property theft, identity theft and data breach. Numerous leaders from public and private sectors inside and outside the state, including elected officials, university presidents and corporate CEOs, along with the city of Phoenix and numerous other cities in the region, have been involved in getting Cyber Security Valley off the ground. And these efforts have been given additional impetus by the fact that the Federal Trade Commission has recognized Arizona as one of the Top 10 states for ID theft victims over the last decade.
