Tried to update Linux Mint installation today and got lots of "Failed to
fetch" hits and other error messages as in this screenshot:

Tried several times and got different results with different items
showing as "failed" each time. Two different examples listed below.
How can I resolve this problem?

package depends on the full suite of the server and drivers for the X.Org
X server. It does not provide the actual server itself.
