The idea of a Pi is solid, or you can see about building an AMD A4 or A6 based system. I personally like the chromecast quite a bit. the main thing is to find out what you want it to do and make choices based on that.

the chromecast is not for everyone.

My dad got a nuc for a media center for .... a lot of money. I'm going to need to get something like that and I need recomendations as to what to get because I know I can get an android for like 100. I can get other  things for like 60. What do you all recommend for around 100.
