I have always done OEM so I am not sure what retail provides. Also if you want to transfer the OEM license just call them and say you had to replace a dead hard drive.
Is there any reason not to buy the OEM version of Windows 7 from Amazon and install in as a virtual OS on my Linux laptop?http://www.amazon.com/Windows-Premium-System-Builder-Packaging/dp/B00H09BB16/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1410554262&sr=8-1&keywords=windows+home+premiumAmazon just says that the OEM version will not receive any MS support (which I have never used), and I can't transfer the license to another computer, which I don't care about.Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks,Mark
