I personally am using a chromecast and plex from my server at home. That so far has been a winning combination. And the server can exist someplace else than the living room and server multiple devices.
Yeah? The box it is replacing is an old IBM NetVISTA which worked great as my TV server until it had a cascade of failures. Right now I'm using my father's NUC as the tv server but he is going to want it back at some point. I can buy an old computer for about the same price as that little Box so I think I will buy the new box.Amazon firebox (just got that message)? I'll look into it!

However, I don't know what you are trying to accomplish, so it may be great for your application.Personally, I use an old pc with a big hard drive for personal video streaming to my TV over my network, and a ROKU box for Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc. Roku boxes are great...they just work, at least for me.MarkOn Tue, Aug 5, 2014 at 7:30 PM, Michael Havens <bmike1@gmail.com> wrote:
