Well, I've been googling and found this (relevant information below). Unfortunately, I can't find the 'app menu' or the, 'show hidden icons' button. Any ideas are appreciated.

-below-
If you go to the system icon tray (lower right hand corner of your task bar) you may have to left-click the "show hidden icons button" then right click on the "WebRoot" icon, revealing the app menu and then left-click "Disable" or appropriate command. Recommend you have alternate antivirus software to run in place of WebRoot while it is disabled.  Hope this helps.

I just opened chromium and tried to start a hangout and didn't get either error message and, while I didn't let the camera start (didn't want to bug the person), it was giving the 'ring' sound

I messed up installing xfce (meaning that I should not have done it). Before I installed it I could use google hang outs chat and video chats.  Now when I try starting a hangout I get two errors. The first is, 'Could not load Google Talk Plugin,' and the second reads, 'Could not load Google Talk Plugin Renderer.' Apparently (so I've read) everything works fine with Chromium but (as my previous message states) chromium no longer works.  Has anyone here experienced the same thing and resolved this issue?
