Try a live cd/dvd first or a usb based live media (unetbootin or fedora live usb creator). Fedora or Ubuntu are good starting points. If everything works on live media it will work when you install it.
I am looking for a distro to load on my Toshiba laptop that is running Vista.
Does anyone know, how I can tell if this will work or not.
