Next Installfest is a week from Saturday (May 18).  I am not sure about CentOS, but I want him or you to go into BIOS and look for the onboard peripherals section.  USB support should be set to legacy so that USB keyboard (and often mouse) have support in BIOS and you may find the whole problem goes away.

Thats because the address really is bad... we lost the old address of plug-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us when it was repossessed by phoenix after Deru bit the dust.

Just use plug-discuss@lists.phxlinux.org , it's easier anyway... and while your changing that address in your address book, go ahead and look for any other address and replace plug.phoenix.az.us with phxlinux.org leaving anything extra like "lists" on the domain and you will be all set for next time.

CentOS on a USB Keyboard Box - Next Install-Fest

A friend has an HP (I think HP) box, with a USB keyboard, which came
with some flavour of Windows. It got a virus and he wiped the drive only
to find that in order to reload the OS, he needs the USB keyboard which
is not available to install the OS until the OS is installed.

I have been touting Linux for many years and he is interested. When is
the next Install-fest? Can CentOS be installed given the USB keyboard?
If so, what all should he bring?

TIA

George

That's weird that the path info was in the message.  I did an "edit
as new" on a message from last month and that file was already
attached... and that file was moved to another computer weeks ago,
so it couldn't have grabbed it from the file system... and come to
think of it I just sent it from a completely different computer to
    boot.  Oh well...

The Desert Breeze Substation is on Chandler Blvd and Desert
        Breeze
Blvd, which is half way between McClintock and Rural.  It
        is very
close to both the south 202 and 101 freeways.  Public
        transportation
is available into the late hours.

To get to the room that we meet, just enter the door that faces
Desert Breeze and make your first left, you can't miss it,
        as it's
             the only place to go.
