Thanks Keith,

I first installed CentOS years ago. I think it was just after the Canadian company bought it from some US company. At that time I got (bought I think) an install CD. I was new to Linux and had failed at several other distributions. CentOS just installed. Is there an install CD (CentOS 6 or 6.4) available today?

TIA

George

Ok,  That did not come out right.  I know he is using an HP.  What I meant to say is it has been a long time since anyone has used serial keyboards.  So I assume Linux would load just fine.

I just installed CentOS 6 on a Dell with USB keyboard and mouse.  Worked fine for me.

Sorry to change the subject but I am having troubles posting to PLUG.  I keep getting a bad address.

CentOS on a USB Keyboard Box - Next Install-Fest

A friend has an HP (I think HP) box, with a USB keyboard, which came with some flavour of Windows. It got a virus and he wiped the drive only to find that in order to reload the OS, he needs the USB keyboard which is not available to install the OS until the OS is installed.

I have been touting Linux for many years and he is interested. When is the next Install-fest? Can CentOS be installed given the USB keyboard? If so, what all should he bring?

TIA

George

That's weird that the path info was in the message.  I did an "edit as new" on a message from last month and that file was already attached... and that file was moved to another computer weeks ago, so it couldn't have grabbed it from the file system... and come to think of it I just sent it from a completely different computer to boot.  Oh well...

The Desert Breeze Substation is on Chandler Blvd and Desert Breeze

close to both the south 202 and 101 freeways.  Public transportation

To get to the room that we meet, just enter the door that faces
Desert Breeze and make your first left, you can't miss it, as it's
