I would run a server on an SSD, and for any server i run i would have a backup and at least a mirror anyhow.

PS from my experience web-servers are more read than write so it should last even longer than a mechanical drive.

I have also found that in deference to their claims some of the SSDs are SLOWER than regular enterprise drives.  
I believe this new technology leaves a lot to be desired.
