<div dir="ltr">You do need to create a MySQL user and database for Joomla.  And you do need to give that user all the required permissions on the Joomla database.  Then all you have to tell Joomla is the name of the database and the MySQL username and password.<br>

The reason I&#39;m thinking I need a database for each webpage is that I created a link to the webpage&#39;s location in /var/www in an experiment to be able to not store the page in /var/www but rather in ~/Documents/&lt;etc&gt; .
