One of my friends has a dell inspiron e1505 that needs to be fixed. I want to boot from the cd but it won&#39;t.<br>I turn it on and get the dell screen and it tells me to enter F2 for setup or F12 for boot options. I want the boot options so I hit F12. Then it says it is Preparing for one time boot menu. Then I get a screen that says <br>
<br>     This computer system, (serial number), is peotected by a password authentication system. You cannot <br>     access data on this computer without the correct password.<br><br>     Please type in the system or administator password and press &lt;Enter&gt;.<br>
<br>Then it gives me three attempts at a password and then powers off. And if I do nothing it powers of after about 30 seconds<br><br>Her password doesn&#39;t work.<br>If I press F2 it says that it is preparing to enter setup and then it does the same thing as if I hit F12.<br>
If I do nothing it is as if I hit F2 or F12.<br clear="all">Does anyone know of a backdoor into this computer or of a password that will work?<br>-- <br>:-)~MIKE~(-:<br>
