Sometimes there will be a hidden .Trash folder that it will drop the deleted files into.

cd /media/632C-4407
ls -al

and see if you see a .Trash folder then go to it to see if it deleted your files to there.

how do I get it to see the flash drive since it will work? The drive is located at /media/632C-4407 .

the instructions also said that it was only good for files on an ext2 file system.... or is that only a minimum? hmmmmmm.... I'm not sure what filesystem is on it! fat16? fat32? ntfs?....
