this thread became the 'computer broke' thread.... take any further discussion over there.
Well this aint looking good! I did get one error as I was unpacking the dkg though. That was:
Warning: No support for locale: en_US.utf8
I didn't see that error on the desktop when I reinstalled the kernel.--

perhaps I'm unpacking it incorrectly. This is the command I issued:
sudo dpkg -i *all.deb linux-headers*386.deb linux-image*
this is the directory:
linux-headers-3.1.4-030104_3.1.4-030104.201111281851_all.deb
linux-headers-3.1.4-030104-generic_3.1.4-030104.201111281851_i386.deb
linux-image-3.1.4-030104-generic_3.1.4-030104.201111281851_i386.deb
Do I need to do each command alone? Perhaps!--On Sun, Dec 4, 2011 at 4:48 PM, Michael Havens <bmike1@gmail.com> wrote:how abput the patch? Should I install that?--On Sun, Dec 4, 2011 at 4:39 PM, Ben Browning <benb@bensbrowning.com> wrote:
There's pretty much no reason to do that... Use stock dpkg'ed kernels.
