I can't help with that Carl.  The last time I touched a Mac was back in the late 80's or maybe 1990.  The thing I hated back then was if you did not want to do things Apple's way, you pretty much could not do them.  Do they even support a three button mouse today (or is the middle "button" just ignored)?

Somehow it never occurred to me to ask PLUG about my migration to Mac problems. But I still do about 80% of my work in my Fedora 15 running on parallels. (I have been told that VMware Fusion is better on resources when I'm running Windows but I pull that up for exactly one website I only need to use once a week). Anyone have a way to make a copy / paste work on a Mac the way it does in Linux? Meaning that if I select text I can use the middle button to paste. You would think the extra steps of command-c, command-v wouldn't bother me so much but after having the Mac for about 90 days I *still* forget several times a day.

Wow, I just checked and he is right.  ALL regular installfests are gone from the calendar including the one we did have in October.  I've no idea how that happened.  I will try to get it fixed.

It seemed like the drive on my old Dell running Ubuntu 10.10 was dying, so I got a new Apple Mac.  I also have a copy of VMware Fusion 4 that I have yet to install.  I want to migrate as much of my Ubuntu machine as possible (and my home directory at a minimum) to an Ubuntu guest machine on the new Mac.

There don't seem to be any regular Installfests scheduled anymore.  Could I get help with this at the Server Installfest scheduled for 2011-11-19?

FWIW, there is an email address for IF related questions: installfest@plug.phoenix.az.us.

Yes, we can give you a hand this coming Saturday.
The next 'regular' IF is scheduled for 12/5 ttbomk.

Larry's been maintaining the calendar of IF events afaik.

Please use Bcc: Please protect my address like I protect yours. This is very important. When sending messages to more than one recipient, please always use the Bcc (Blind carbon copy) and not To: or Cc (carbon copy). If you do not know how to set it up, ask around.  Do not forget to remove all of the addresses that are present in the message body before forwarding the message. These simple measures will prevent spy programs from capturing all of the addresses that are shown in the recipient list and in the body of the message.
