I know Im late chiming in on this, but in my research http://opennode.activesys.org/ Open node seems to be a great solution for managing VMs end to end.

I did the full install, and it installed a very basic Debian core and only took seconds, but it did wipe my disk and force me to restore existing servers.  Doing the full install worked flawless for me on two Dell R200 servers, and clustering worked perfectly also.
