Posted Rate of Pay $55,000 - $60,000 per year, DOE Duties and Responsibilities The ASU Advanced Computing Center (A2C2) is searching for a Systems Analyst Senior familiar with Linux system cluster administration. As a member of the Operations team, this position will be responsible for supporting A2C2's infrastructure and data center facility. In this role, the Systems Analyst Senior will: install, configure, test, support and troubleshoot hardware and software installations on A2C2's Saguaro supercomputer, high-speed Lustre file system and storage; support and maintain the user accounting, allocations and resource scheduling systems; and compile, install and test engineering applications, scientific applications, programming languages and open source applications. The position will also ensure A2C2's system security and data integrity; is responsible for updating tools and creating scripts to automate and improve processes; will assist with cluster architecture redesign, upgrades and other expansion projects; and create, update and maintain A2C2 user and system based documentation. Provide technical assistance, training and guidance to student workers on hardware and software features associated with the supercomputer. Excellent customer service skills are a must in this position; the Systems Analyst Senior will provide support to internal and external customers by responding and solving support tickets and assist A2C2 research and academic users with questions and issues. In addition, the position will participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation policy by responding to A2C2 system and emergency problems. DAYS AND SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, to include evenings, weekend and 24/7 on-call support as needed. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in technology or related field AND four (4) years experience providing information technology services; OR, Eight (8) years experience providing related information technology services; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Certificates from recognized programs that indicate mastery tools and techniques relevant to the assignment may substitute for up to six months of experience. Desired Qualifications Experience in: Linux/ Unix System administration and user support; support parallel or distributing computing architectures; programming languages such a C, C++, PHP, Ruby-on-Rails; UNIX scripting languages; compiling and installing engineering or scientific applications and tools. Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills.
