I joined this list recently to see about participating more with PLUG. Is this really what a Linux-oriented mailing list is about? My mailbox as never been so full of crap. 

What's the usual ratio of rabid howling to actual technical discussion?

it means that there are some who cannot exert self control and abuse
this list to push their political views.
