I was not having this particular problem, but I had two 300Gb drives that i was using as a raid 1 mirror setup.  I decommissioned that computer and tried to repurpose the disks.  it seemed they still had some affinity for the raid setup, and I was getting a lot of strange errors.

I can't find my notes on the exact situation, but, I believe I had to reset up the raid 1 and delete the array that way.  I know I reformatted and may have tried deleting the partition table and starting over from scratch.

When I tried to use 'gparted', I see this error:

So, I booted "Part Magic" Linux live CD and screen captured
the contents of the two hard disks as shown at these links:

I want to use the second hard disk to backup all my files
on the first hard disk.

What do I need to do to get the second hard disk unlocked
and mounted so I can copy all my files onto it?
