longer title :
(which I thought would be overkill for a "Subj:" header) :

FSM [freesoftwaremagazine.com] on the topic of making the installation
of ["application" vs. OS] software (in Gnu/Linux)
so easy a grandma could do it:

I recently got an interesting "opinion" / "editorial" message
(maybe "partly" technical, too) about this, via e-mail
from freesoftwaremagazine.com ;
I decided not to  "Forward" it to this list, and not only because I wanted
to avoid risking maybe running afoul of some copyright rules
(or even, maybe just netiquette rules) that I might not be 100% up on.

But,
(as long as there is a perfectly good copy of it out there on their web site),
(see the hyper link below),
another reason not to forward that e-mail message,
is the fact there are some of the little sections (which I mostly skipped!)
that are delimited by little "=delimiter=" markers, like this:

=TEXTBOX_START=<title>=
[...body...]
=TEXTBOX_END=

(where "<title>" could be, e.g., "Free Software Magazine is now on Twitter!
and [...body...] 'represents' the "content", that is, the body of the TEXTBOX),

and ** most of ** those little sections (100% I think)
DID NOT get handled right, by some robot that was [apaprently] "trying"
to convert some kind of "markup" stuff, into a valid html e-mail message.

I do not know if the misbehaving robot was at the "sending" end, or
at the "receiving" end [which for me is gmail];
or somewhere in between
[which for me includes acm.org, which uses postini.com for filtering];

so -- anyway -- here is, "instead!", a link to it:

enjoy...
