My advice to you is to apt-get update; apt-get upgrade right away. KDE 4.1 has a lot of improvements in stability and general usability.

I just installed Kubuntu 8.04 community KDE 4 remix.  It installed
smoothly and looked very nice.  Then during online installation of
more packages, Adept (the package manager) crashed.  Just went away
off the screen.  Then it crashed again.  Then I selected fewer
packages, installed them, selected a few, installed them, selected a
few and it crashed.

A couple of other things:
- - widgets installed on the panel cannot be moved, at least not that
I could see
- - koffice packages installed combinations of KDE 3 and 4 components
- - konqueror as a file manager seemed to have some kind of paralax
between the mouse pointer and where I clicked.

Could be my 1.25 year old laptop with ATI graphics that causes issues
too but, well, it was not stable at first blush and I'm not going to
keep tweaking.  I'm downloading the standard Kubuntu 8.04 as we speak.
I assume that'll be much more stable with KDE 3.x.

Alan
